In2tec is delighted to have received the Most Eco-Conscious Electronic Development Company award as part of the SME Midlands Enterprise Awards 2024.
It's incredible to witness our patented ReUSE® and ReCYCLE™ technology being acknowledged as a groundbreaking change in establishing a circular economy in the electronics sector. This industry, known for its linear consumption patterns, has been significantly detrimental to economic, environmental, and social well-being.
ReUSE® is a set of materials, manufacturing process, and proprietary design techniques to deliver printed circuit board assemblies that can be fully unzipped at end-of-life (EOL), or for repair.
The patented inks, adhesives, materials, and process provides the backbone for creating a truly circular model. It allows areas such as cross-links to provide bond strengths equivalent to solder, whilst being manufactured at lower temperatures and producing far fewer CO2 emissions.
ReCYCLE™ is the unzipping mechanism for ReUSE® PCBAs. A combination of proprietary processes, with an eco-friendly catalyst, takes printed electronic circuit board assemblies back to their constituent parts. The process in which the PCBAs are returned to the original bill of materials is ultra-low energy and brings big value to EOL electronics across the supply chain.
The technology that In2tec have innovated covers a variety of influential benefits. It is not a technology that just focuses on reducing the biggest waste stream we currently have, ewaste.
The technology can enhance the safety of working conditions at reuse and recycling centres, as well as in take-back programs. These take-back initiatives are closely linked to the fact that reusable components from obsolete devices can now become a valuable commodity. The flourishing market for second-life components opens up fresh revenue streams for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), recyclers, and component OEMs, all while minimising risks, volatility, and fluctuations in supply chains.
The ReCYCLE™ process establishes a standardised approach that facilitates the global dissemination of the technology. This not only enhances control and transparency but also empowers governments to develop more robust and effective legislation.
With the increased second-life components, the reduction in mining for key electronic materials can be reduced, lowering the emissions needed to mine and lowering the volume of deforestation and the harmful residues that contaminate our soil and water, ultimately benefiting human health
Protecting future generations is a responsibility we all share. In2tec is proud to be at the forefront of inspiring sustainable electronics and driving electronics circularity.
Together, we can raise the benchmark for sustainable electronics and make a lasting impact that changes the outcomes for our children and our planet.
