WHAT ARE THE CRYSTAL CABIN AWARDS?

The Crystal Cabin Award is an annual aerospace concept competition, hosted in Hamburg, Germany, that has run since 2007. It is the only international award for innovative aircraft cabin ideas, and it has a panel of 29 international judges from airlines, aircraft manufacturers, suppliers, universities, consulting firms and the press. In2tec, because of our work in the aerospace industry and innovative approach in the design and manufacture of Electronic Interfaces, were invited to enter with our “Smart Office” application.

OUR ENTRY, THE IN2SENSE SMART OFFICE

Utilising cutting edge In2sense 3D technology, our engineers conceptualised a tray table with a secret-til-lit keyboard, connected to a device mount, with the vital cup holder built in. This was made possible by our expertise in flawless capacitive touch, contoured flexible electronics and aerospace grade materials. It was made necessary by the modern passengers increasing desire for connected technologies and made to meet the health and safety specifications of passenger aeroplanes, with secure electronic connectivity and anti-microbial materials.

Our market research revealed that some aerospace and automotive companies are excited about the integration of innovative and practical electronic devices. As many devices use different connections, the smart office can be built in three variants: as a built-in display, with Bluetooth connectivity or a combination of the two.

We are excited by the level of interest from several industries who want to implement our smart office technology in a variety of ways. From similar designs in the back of cars and coaches, to seamless keyboards built into desks and walls, we are always identifying new applications for this technology, making our customers design dreams become reality.
